Hall, Dennis (Butch)
  Dennis (Butch) Hall died peacefully at Scottsdale Osborne Hospital in Scottsdale, Arizona on March 21, 2012, surrounded by friends and family, at the age of 74. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Kathelyn Hall (Odle) of Wapello, IA, a younger brother, Gary Hall, also of Wapello, and his wife Katherine, of Mesa, AZ. Butch was born in Louisa County, Iowa on March 27, 1937, graduated from Wapello High School and married Kay Holmquist. Together, they raised three boys and owned the Sinclair tank wagon fuel delivery service and the local Western Auto hardware store. Butch was active in the community as a Little League coach, Boy Scout leader, and as a firefighter for the Wapello Volunteer Fire Department. Butch moved to Mesa, AZ in 1981 where he and his second wife Katherine owned Copper State Security Alarm Company and Aztec Answering Service. Butch and Kathy often traveled to Guaymez, Mexico to support the youth missions of St. Bridget's Catholic Church. While there, they would prepare and serve three hot meals a day to small groups for several days at a time in the barrios while their team helped to build structures for the locals. Butch was since recognized by charity organizers for his positive impact on literally thousands of impoverished children in Mexico. Butch and Kathy also hosted foreign exchange students from Mexico and Japan and cooked for the residents of the East Valley Men's Transitional Center for many years. Butch is survived by three sons and a daughter; Steve Hall of Show Low, AZ, Brian Hall of Mesa, AZ, Daniel Hall of Tiffin, IA, and Patricia Milligan of Mesa, AZ. He is also survived by two sisters and a brother; Ruby Czerwinski of Omaha, Nebraska, Kathy Logsdon also of Omaha, and James Lynn (Pete) Hall of Wapello, IA. He enjoyed 7 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Butch will always be remembered by his family as a wonderful and supportive husband, father, brother and uncle - and outdoor cook. He will be greatly missed. Memorial contributions may be made to the Casa Franciscana Outreach, Guaymas Mission at 
casafranciscanaoutreach.org. Visitation will be Sunday, March 25, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Queen of Heaven Mortuary and Cemetery, 1562 E. Baseline Road, Mesa, AZ 85204. Funeral Service will be Monday, March 26, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. also at Queen of Heaven. Arrangements entrusted to Queen of Heaven Mortuary.
