Arthur Luhrs Obituary
Arthur Allen Luhrs, 94, passed away May 5, 2009 at Hospice Sherman House. Born in Phoenix November 13, 1914, Allen was the grandson of early Phoenix pioneers, George H.N. and Katherine Luhrs, who immigrated from Newhaus, Germany in the early 1860's and later built the Luhrs Properties, still landmarks of downtown Phoenix.
At his request, Allen's ashes will be scattered in the Sierra Ancha Mountains, the location of lifelong memories. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 am, Monday, May 11, at All Saints' Episcopal Church, 6300 N. Central Ave.
