Bearup, James Michael
James was born in Scottsdale, Arizona on February 23, 1984 to Tom and Adele Bearup. He is survived by his wife Fawn, his son James II, and daughter Mya. His family includes parents Tom and Adele Bearup, brothers Rick and Carrisa Bearup, Patrick and Ginger Bearup, Darren and Angie Bearup, sisters Kim Stevenson, Michele Bearup, Teresa and Cory Dean, Robyn and Shane Schneider, Rebekah and Josh Freeman. James has 30 nieces and nephews and 2 great nieces. Grandparents, Pat and Donna Gordon, Fawn's parents, Tom and Debbie Davis, sister in law Dawn Brumbaugh. James passed away April 8, 2013. Celebration of Life to be held on Tuesday, April 16th, 2013, starting at 10:30 A.M. at the Hansen Mortuary, Desert Hills Memorial Park, 6500 East Bell Road, Scottsdale, Arizona with graveside service to follow. James will be laid to rest at the National Cemetery located at Cave Creek Road and Pinnacle Peak Road. As a combat veteran, James served his country honorably in the United States Army, stationed in Kandahar, Afghanistan. He rose to the rank of sergeant earning numerous medals, awards, and commendations including three Army Commendation Medals, the Army Achievement Medal, and the Army Good Conduct Medal. He served as a Chaplin Assistant and security forces. He served as a service member in the Air National Guard and Army National Guard out of Arizona, Alaska and Texas. He was currently serving in the inactive ready reserves. James was a third generation Arizonan. After his military service, he returned home and studied Business Administration at Arizona Christian University. He was a youth pastor at Phoenix Korean Presbyterian Church and volunteered with numerous charitable organizations. James also served as a youth pastor in Anchorage, Alaska during his military service. In an effort to continue his commitment to public service, James ran for the Arizona House of Representatives in District 15 last year. James took his pro-family, pro-2nd Amendment, and pro-education conservative campaign door-to-door, meeting with the district voters. Officiants will be Pastor Tom Bearup, Pastor Pat Shaughnessy and
Pastor Edward Yoon. Donations can be deposited at any Wells Fargo Bank in the name of James Bearup Memorial Fund. A gathering of family and friends will follow the graveside services. Contact information: Pastor Tom Bearup, [email protected]

Dear Bearup Family, I am sorry for the loss of James. He was highly regarded among all of us in the Alaska Army National Guard. As a member of the Afghanistan deployment, James helped many other soldiers in his role in the Chaplains Office. He will be remembered by all of us.
