I'm so sorry for your loss. My heart aches for you. My son just graduated from Greenway H.S., and my daughter currently attends. The Greenway family and the Arizona family will always be grateful to Garret for his sacrifice. God bless your family, and may he rest in peace.

As a parent of a firefighter I know there are no words great enough to honor all you lived to do, how you lived to do it, or how proud we all are of you and the life you led, the life you gave. There are no words to convey what losing you does to all of our hearts, those closest to you, and those of us who didn't know you personally. They ring hallow and yet are filled with the joy you gave, that was evident in your photo's, in what others spoke of you. My heart breaks for your parents, your girlfriend, your family, including the family of millions worldwide who are fire fighters and love you, miss you and will remember you with a smile because you lead with a special light. You are a Hero in the finest yet humblest sense of the word and I thank you for all you did, for each breath you gave and for being part of the best of the best and doing it with total sacrifice, duty and honor. I thank you for touching my life, as have your brothers; I would give anything to have that never to have happened but these few words are spoken to send love and appreciation, and comfort to your family and loved ones, even knowing how short they fall in doing so. Thank you Garret, thank you for being you. A Mom.
