Viola Fajen Obituary

Fajen, Viola Elizabeth (Juergensen)
Viola was born in Sagerton, Texas in 1930. Her parents were Olaf and Agaetha Juergensen. In 1937, the family, including her brother Allen, moved to Kansas. Vi and Lyle Fajen met while in the third grade at St. John's Lutheran Church and parochial school, located near Palmer, Kansas. In 1951, after high school, they were married at the same Church. In 1959, after Lyle's military duty, college degree and subsequent employment by Motorola, they settled in Phoenix, AZ. They joined Christ Church-Lutheran (CCL) and parochial school, raising their three children. Vi attended college and became a Docent at the Phoenix Art Museum. She was active in the CCL Lutheran Women's Missionary League. Her favorite activities include singing in the choir, gardening, bridge, cooking, traveling and calligraphy. Vi is survived by Lyle and their three children, Linda, Don, Jennifer and Vi's brother Allen. Vi's grand-children are Heather, Joel and Bethany, Don Elia Tikhon, Michiko and Naoko. Her great-grand-children are Lydia, Miriam, Yukiko, Sakura and Adele. Vi's memorial service will be at CCL, 3901 Ind. Sch. Rd. at 11 a.m., on Wed. Jan 21st. A tax deductible memorial may designated to the Christ Cares Clinic or the Christ Lutheran School Foundation via CCL.
