Harold Terry Obituary
Harold "Hal" Dale Terry, 83, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2016. He was born in Marysville, Kansas to Goldie Foley Terry and Laurance Terry. He was a graduate of Karney State college and received his masters and doctorate of education from the University of Nebraska. Hal was a professional educator during his career serving in the capacities of high school coach, junior high & high school principal and superintendent. He also honorably served two years in the Army during the Korean War. During his pastime, Hal enjoyed the hobbies golfing and reading. Hal is predeceased by his parents and former wife, Lynn Smith. He is survived by his wife, Sherry Keffeler Terry; daughter, Robin Fitch (Dan); son, Bart Terry (Kelli); grandsons, Jon and Blake Fitch, Alec (Lindsey) and Matthew Terry; granddaughter, Ashley Fitch. Services will be held Friday, April 8, 1:00PM at American Lutheran Church, 17200 N. Del Webb Blvd., Sun City, Arizona 85373 with Rev. Charles Paulson officiating. Final resting place will be held at a later date in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Memorial contributions in memory of Hal can be made to the American Lutheran Church.

Hal hired me right out of college to teach science at Mission Junior High in Bellevue, NE in 1973. I will always remember him as a strong principal and he was always fair to me as a new teacher. I learned a lot under his guidance. My condolences to the family. I will miss him.

Hal was a principal at Bellevue High School where I taught English. His daughter Robin was one of my students. Hal was as excellent principal and friend as was his wife Lynn. Hal will be missed by many.

I was shocked to hear of Hal's death. He was a Good friend and buddy. I often think of his embrassing smile, quick wit, and friendly manner. I also laugh when I think of how he would throw his golf club after a bad shot and I would jump all over him for doing it. I think that I was the only friend that wasn't afraid to get after him for doing it. I didn't cut him any slack and he appreciated it. He will be greatly missed. Rest in peace my friend.

Hal was a teacher to both Bob and I and a coach to Bob while he was in Loup City Nebraska. We enjoyed golfing with him and talking about all the basketball games that were won or lost during our school years.
