He loved spending time at the beach with his family, golfing with friends, volunteering, traveling to Colorado, ice cream and Notre Dame football. He was generous, loving and kind to everyone he met and will be remembered for his genuine interest in others. Gib was born on July 23, 1929 in Chicago, IL to Judge Gibson and Dorothy Gorman. He attended DePaul University and Arizona State University. After graduation he was a coach, teacher and Real Estate Appraiser in Chicago. Gib married his devoted wife Jean in Chicago on July 5, 1958. He continued his career as an Appraiser after moving to Phoenix in 1964, and later become a Mortgage Banker. They have four children, Gibby (Andrea), Susan (Bill) Hoover, Danny and Kathleen (Dan) Moroney. He was blessed with six loving grandchildren, Hunter, Paige and Hayden Hoover, and Kirby, Molly and Shannon Moroney. Gib was a devout Catholic and involved with the Men's Club and St. Vincent de Paul at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. He was an extremely loving and patient husband, father and friend and will be missed by all who knew him. Gib is survived by his brother Tom. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, sister Dorothy Mary Webber and brother Harry. Prior to entering Ryan House, Gib received kind and loving care from the nurses and staff at Honor Health Scottsdale Osborn Hospital for which the family is extremely grateful. I remember Mr. Gorman from when I was a young child and best friends with his son Dan. We used to go through the alley and backyard to visit each other and I remember once Mr. Gorman asked me to go around the front for a while because he had just seeded the back yard. He seemed huge - he was wearing a white t-shirt and had a black crew cut. I must have been 4. I was frightened but he went out of his way to be so calm and gentle with all of us. There was always a swarm of kids congregating. My heart goes out to his family.

Dear Jean and family: It's a little scary....Gibby was on my mind all last week. It happened like that with my Dad and Donnie, too. He was a wonderful person. Always had a good word to say to me, even when we hadn't seen each other in many years. We had a great visit at Aunt Florence's birthday party. I will always remember that about him. Love, Judy and Tom

Forty five years ago it was Mr Gorman but as we both aged, he became Gib and a true friend and gentlemen. One of my greatest joys was seeing Jean and Gib complete marriage encounter. Seeing their radiant faces was wonderful! Please say hello to our Dad and continue the activities from St. Thomas. Love to the Gorman family

Big Gib was a gentle GIANT! A man that loved The Lord, his wife and family... what a great example of how to "finish".

Well done good and faithful servant!

We will all miss you, but take great comfort trusting The Lord's promise of our eternal home.

Tell my Parents hello for me Big Gib and we were blessed that you shared your life with us!

A tremendous listener and genuine to the bone, Gib played an inspirational role in my life as my father-in-law. His warm embrace and firm hand shake will be missed.
