Manuela "Nellie" Lopez April 4, 1932 - December 24, 2010 Graveside services for Nellie Lopez will be held on Thursday, December 30, 3:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3700 River Blvd. Nellie was born in Cameron, Texas to Jesus and Francisca (Zavala) Martinez. She eventually moved to California and made Bakersfield her home. She retired as a CNA after 30 years. Nellie was a very compassionate woman who always made you feel welcome in her home. She leaves behind four daughters who will miss her dearly: Mary Martinez, Juanita and Richard Jimenez, Alicia and Manuel Rubio, Rosemary and Rocky Ramos; 19 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and one great- great grandson. Nellie has gone home to be with her other family whom she loved and missed very much, sons, Raymond Juarez, Jeff, David and Danny Lopez; brothers, Domingo and Stanley Martinez; sisters, Tomasita Juarez and Lupe Arzate; and her parents. The family would like to thank the staff at Evergreen Bakersfield Healthcare Center for the care they provided and Memorial Hospital Hospice for their help during this difficult time.
