Michael Robert McCoy April 23, 1958 - November 12, 2010 Michael Robert McCoy resided in Bakersfield, CA, and left this earthly world after a brief illness on November 12, 2010, in the presence of family and longtime close friend, Joe Giuffre. Preceding Mike in death were his, parents, Robert and Joyce McCoy; mother- in-law, Janice Elizalde; and his beloved dogs, Jake and Elwood. Mike was an avid sports enthusiast, starting as a young child, enjoying baseball (Yankees), football (Green Bay Packers, Notre Dame Fighting Irish), and motocross. In Junior High, Mike excelled in wrestling. He attended Garces Memorial High School graduating in 1976. He participated on the track team, where he set many records. Upon graduation, Mike took his track talent to Cal State Bakersfield, where he excelled on the track team and graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Bio Chemistry in 1981. Mike took pride in his career making baker's yeast for Anheuser Busch, Columbia yeast in Alabama, and USA yeast in Mississippi. Mikes Bio Chemistry background afforded him a career change, where he was employed by Clean Harbors in Buttonwillow, CA, until 2008. Left to mourn his passing is his beloved wife, Linda; step-son, Chase Elizalde-Shirey; sisters-in-law, Grace (Jim) Ware, Rochelle (Mike) Ladd, and Cindy Elizalde; and numerous cousins. The family would like to thank the staff at Memorial Hospital for their care of Mike in his final days. Mass of Resurrection will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 124 Columbus St. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2010, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Chapel, 3700 River Blvd. Greenlawn Mortuary www.bakersfield.com/obits

Dear Linda, my mom just told me about Mike. I'm so sorry for your loss. It makes me really sad. You were crazy about Mike since you were a freshman in high school. I remember you always talking about Mike McCoy. And then when you got together years later and married, that was so cool. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Linda, I was so surprised of Mikes Passing. I know he was haveing some health problems but never this serious. He was such a nice guy, did I ever buy a Margarita in the Mexicalie if you two were there? Mike always wanted to make me feel at home and was always glad to see me or any one else for that matter. I will miss seeing him with you. If I can be of any help, assistance, or you need a bud please call me.

Mike..I was s surprised to see that you had passed. i met you when we attended Garces and you were such a sweet guy. I remember you how you loved the rock groups KISS and QUEEN. Im sadden about your passing and pray for your family. RIP in my friend.
