Samuel Ingle Obituary

Samuel Lee Ingle, Jr. Dec. 26, 1945 - Sept. 27, 2010 Sammy's wild and free spirit was released on September 27, 2010. That spirit is most likely doing things "his way" as he did in life. Sammy lived a very colorful life and wasn't afraid to push life to the limit. He loved diving from the highest rock in the canyon, hopping the fastest moving train, or fighting the biggest guy in the bar. Sam was born December 26, 1945, to Sam and Doris Ingle in Bakersfield, CA. He attended Pioneer Drive, Orangewood, Edison and Bakersfield High Schools and lived most of his life in Bakersfield, CA. He moved to Oklahoma to be nearer to his children a few years ago. His children left to mourn his passing are daughter, Shelly Brown (Jim); son, Sammy Ingle III; son, Steven Ingle; and their mother, Suzanne Thomas, all of Oklahoma; daughter, Misti Gill and her mother, Annie Garret of Bakersfield. He is also survived by Diane Hickman of Tennessee. Also missing him very much are his sister, Pat White (John) of Bakersfield and brother, Jim Ingle of Soledad, CA. Grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins and old and dear friends will miss him, too. Sam won't be alone, however. His dad, Samuel Ingle, Sr.; his mother, Doris (Ingle) Gross; and his sister, Kathleen Gonzales were waiting for him with open arms that evening. Many other members of our family and Sam's friends were welcoming him too. A memorial will be held at Mission Family Mortuary, 531 California Ave. on Sunday, October 10, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. Bring your stories of this colorful life and share it. Afterwards, there will be food and drink at 13800 Laverton Ave. As Sammy always said, "Catch ya on the flip side." Fly high and free, Sammy. www.bakersfield.com/obits

It was sad to learn of Sammy's passing. I think your discription of Sam was "right on". All in all Sam was a good person and you could depend on him because he was a man of his word as I remember him. Sammy, give a big hug to Doris and Kathy for me and tell them I will meet them when my time comes.
Sincerely,
Donald Yimm
