Aubrey Carter Memoriam

In Loving Memory of Aubrey C. Carter November 20, 1946 - November 30, 2010 Aubrey C. Carter was born in Fresno, CA in 1946.?He graduated from Mt. Whitney HS of Visalia, Ca in 1964.?Soon after, Aub made Bakersfield his home. He attended Bakersfield College, then joined the Navy.?Although he never was called upon to fight abroad, Aubrey was so proud to serve his country.?Once out of the Navy, Aubrey again made Bakersfield his home.?He retired from Pacific Bell after many years, then dabbled in?his own?restaurant business.?His love for food, spirits, and good times were his winning recipe at his restaurants.?When Aubrey wasn't cooking, or socializing with the regulars, you would find him on the golf course.?His love for golf and competitive edge could rival even the fiercest of?opponents.?His competitive edge spanned much further than the 18th hole.?There were many a fast pitch softball team that would yearn for him to be behind home plate.?He relished the idea of victory, whether on the ball field or placing bets with his buddies per hole, even if he had to cheat, his was the victor. Aubrey is survived by his wife, Shallie Warne; his two children Bret?and Lori Carter, and Shannon Carter Saso, his five stepdaughters, Julee May, Leah and Emilio Cantu, Lyndi Buchanan, Lacey Warne, and Audrey Warne.?Aubrey had numerous grandchildren that brought a special sense of pride and a smile to his face. We will all miss his ability to make us laugh. www.bakersfield.com/obits
