Calvin William Haffey 1925 - 2010 Calvin William Haffey, better known as "Bill" to family and friends was born on May 16, 1925 and passed away peacefully on November 23, 2010 at his home in Bakersfield, CA. with family members by his side. Even near the end of his life he experienced no pain from his illnesses and he was always expressing his thankfulness to God for this. He was always optimistic and he always held on to his sense of humor. He was a loyal husband, father and friend. He is survived by his loving wife, Dona; sons, Michael Haffey and wife Holly of Mt. Vernon, WA, and Eric Haffey; daughters, Rene Flurey of Mt. Vernon, WA, Shawna Martinez and husband Ron of Loomis, CA, and Penny Harding of Sacramento, CA; stepdaughters, Cathy Veatch-McCrary and husband Mike of Bakersfield, CA, and Elaine Spalinger of Redmond, OR; 11 grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren. Also a special thank you to Hannah Richards for her love, care and support. Bill will be missed greatly. A Memorial Service for Bill will be held on Dec. 11 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Bible Church, 48 Manor St., Bakersfield.
