Charles Albert Boyvin

1928 - 2010

Charles Albert Boyvin June 25, 1928 - December 6, 2010 Charles was born in Glendale, CA to Louis Francis Boyvin and Ruth Borden Stronach. Chuck was educated in Glendale, where he attended Glendale High School and then Glendale College. He served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952, stationed in Korea as an Aerial Photographer. Following the military Chuck was hired into the Management Training program with Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. He retired from Goodyear after 30 years of service in the Los Angeles and Bakersfield plant locations. Following his retirement from Goodyear, Chuck worked for Bowman Industries in Bakersfield. Throughout his life Chuck served his community as a member of numerous service organizations but he was most proud of his years with the Lyons Club where he served prior to retiring as President of Bakersfield Sports Lions. Chuck is survived by his wife, Mary Kerber Boyvin; his son, Gregory and wife Magda; and his daughter, Lyndee L. Latch and her husband Dave. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Paul Boyvin, Stephanie Boyvin, Geoffrey McLean, Ashley McLean, David Latch Jr. and Keith Latch; his great grandchildren, Tristin Boyvin, Kayla Boyvin, Keith Latch Jr., Mallory Latch, Payton Latch and Taylor Latch. Chuck was preceded in death by Patricia J. Boyvin his wife of 51 years. The family wishes to thank his doctors and nurses at Bakersfield Heart Hospital for their loving attention and professional care. The family has requested in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the City of Hope, Attn: Central Processing, 1500 East Duarte Road, Duarte, CA. 91010. Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 9th, from 4-8 p.m., with a Graveside service on Friday, Dec. 10th, 10:00 a.m., at Hillcrest Memorial Park & Mortuary.
