Donald (Donny) O. Cullum December 21, 1960 - September 14, 2010 Donald O. Cullum was born in Bakersfield, CA to Don and Barbara Cullum on Dec. 21, 1960. He attended local schools, then moved to New Mexico when he was 19. Donny returned home to be around family in 2007. He as a very talented drummer, playing with Johnny Rodriquez as the opening act for Hank Williams Jr. as well as going on tour with Alabama. He was honest, kind and loved to help others. Donny fought his demons and tried to take his life's lessons to help others not have to experience the things he had. He led a meeting at Mary K. Shell Mental Health and always hoped that he had helped at least one person to take their life back from addictions. Donny was preceded in death by his father, Don and leaves behind his mother and stepfather, Barbara and Bill Johnston; two brothers, Terry and Jeff Cullum; a sister, Sherry Frye; two step-brothers, Ken and Joe Johnston; and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be missed so much but his struggles are over and we know he is at peace. Private graveside services will be held on Monday, Sept. 20th, 11:00 a.m. at Greenlawn on River Blvd. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Mary K Shell Mental Health Center, CAC Program. www.bakersfield.com/obits
