John Mulligan Obituary

John Mulligan 1922 - 2010 John Mulligan, 88 years old, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, December 26th, surrounded by his family and dreaming of the life he had loved, especially his days raising honeybees. John was born in Selma, California, later moving to Delano where he raised his family and was co-owner of Mulligan Furniture Company with his brother George. Eight years ago, he and Velma moved to Shafter to be closer to family. His life was centered around his love of family and his love for the Lord. In his last days he charged all of his children and grandchildren to take good care of his treasured wife, Velma. John is also survived by his four children, Tim Mulligan, Kathy Lindberg, Pat Mulligan, and Michael Mulligan; as well as 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Services and a luncheon will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 31, at the home of Michael and Susan Mulligan, 17647 Wasco Avenue, Shafter. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Hoffman Hospice, 8501 Brimhall Road, Bldg. 100, Bakersfield, CA 93312; California School Projects (a Christian High School Ministry) PO Box 904, La Mirada, CA 90637, or a charity of choice. When I think of John Mulligan the word "gracious" comes to mind. He was such a gentle, kind man. He has left a wonderful legacy to his family, an example of what a Godly man looks like. It was a privilege to know him.
