Kenneth Perry Obituary

Kenneth Robert Perry August 12, 1948 - October 9, 2010 Graveside services with full military honors will be held on Friday, Oct. 22, 2010 at 10: 00 a.m. at Bakersfield National Cemetery on Bear Mtn. Blvd. and Hwy. 58 for Kenneth Robert Perry, 62, who passed away October 9, 2010. Kenneth was born in Bakersfield to Bob and Sue Perry. Ken graduated from North High class of 1966. He then joined the U.S. Marines and served two tours in Viet Nam earning numerous medals including three Bronze Stars. After a few years of civilian life Ken reenlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served in both combat and peace time for 20 years before retiring with honors. He is survived by a sister, Glenna and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Ken, you will be dearly missed. Visitation will be on Thursday, Oct. 21st, from 6 p.m. till 8 p.m., at Doughty-Calhoun-O'Meara. Doughty-Calhoun-O'Meara www.bakersfield.com/obits

Kenny and I played as kids on Lake St. I was sad when he moved, because I missed a good friend. I only saw him once or twice after he moved, once when we were on leave. I'll always remember him as a guy that was patriotic and did things right. Til we meet again, old friend.

Ken.... You always made me laugh with you sense of humor like your nephew Jeff lol... And one day I will get a Tundra again just to get those side steps from Ebay you wouldn't let me forget about... I will miss you very much and I am very honored to have been apart of your family. I love you and miss you dearly!
