Louise Noriega Obituary

Louise Noriega November 16, 1908 - November 16, 2010 Louise Noriega entered this world November 16, 1908 and 102 years later on her birthday departed. She is now with the Lord she loved so much, her beloved husband, family and dear friends celebrating the day. Louise was born in San Luis Obispo, CA, to parents, Rachel and William Rosenhahn. The family moved to Bakersfield 3 years later, where Louise would reside the rest of her life. She was an only child, unspoiled, loving, kind, and thoughtful. After graduating from Bakersfield High School (Kern Co. Union High), she attended Lufkins Business College, and then entered the work field. Not for long though, for she soon met the handsome, Frank Noriega, the love of her life. They were married in 1930 and would spend 63 years together until his passing in 1993. Louise and Frank were blessed with two daughters, Marilyn and Frances (Sancy), whom they doted on and gave a beautiful life. Louise was active in the girls' lives, working tirelessly for St. Joseph's Church and school in the mother's club and many various ways. She could make the most beautiful floral crowns for the Blessed Mother Mary. They were truly works of art. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, always setting an example of love, kindness and generosity. As an accomplished cook, she planned many dinners for family and friends and could make an angel food cake that stood over a foot high, amazing everyone. Louise was an avid reader, bridge player and shopper, and did all with great vigor. Her love for chocolate was only surpassed by her love for bacon and eggs. Louise is preceded in death by her husband, Judge Frank Noriega; parents, Rachel and William Rosenhahn; and son-in-law, Willard Kitchen. She is survived by her daughters, Marilyn Kitchen and Frances (Sancy) Dawson and husband, Jess; grandchildren, Kati Galuppo and husband, Lou, Judy Canchola and husband, Michael, and Jim Dawson; great-grandchildren, Matt and Mia Galuppo, Josh McCormick and wife, Tracy, Hannah, Claire, and Mattie Dawson; great-great-grandchildren, Kinsley and Jesse McCormick. Mass will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 124 Columbus St. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity. The family would like to thank her devoted doctor, William Baker, in addition to her loving caregivers, Marie Jimenez, Carlotta Pilja, Starla Muehler and Belinda Mattley.
