Mike will be greatly missed by our family. We attended BHS with him.
Mike, I'm sure God received you with open arms, a great smile and a "Welcome Home Son!"
You're in our prayers. Never to be forgotten.

Today we come to celebrate the life of my Uncle "Mike Arias." Each one of us here today can say we were very blessed to have been part of his life. To My Family, Aunt Rachel, cousins Michael,Shelly and Eric, your Husband and Dad spoke about you guys with Love and Pride he felt for each one of you, you were his perfect family. Son in law JJ, and Daughter in law Stephanie, you 2 were like his own children he loved you and appreciated everything about you guys. Taylor, Zach, Ryan, Allison, Derek and Sydney, you 6 grandkids were the joy of your Grandpa's life, he loved all of you as one, and enjoyed the times he spent with each one of you. To his brothers John and Henry, Sisters Delores, Lupita and Margaret, you were his first family and he cherished every moment that he would spend with you and your families. Ted, Mando, and Carlos you 3 were his brothers in law, but Uncle Mike only saw each of you as a Brother whom he would do anything for. Bobby Aguilar, you were a great friend to My Uncle, the 2 of you had many great times together, some a little crazier than others, like the time the tree fell on top of my Uncle Mike, but thats why he referred to you as his "Partner in Crime." Serving in the Navy on the USS Canberra, and serving in Vietnam was something My Uncle was very proud of, we heard all the stories and each time you could see the pride all over his face. He would tell me that serving his country was his biggest individual accomplishment. He supported all the local sports including his favorite, his alumni, Garces Memorial High School. If any local team were playing a big game, you could bet Uncle Mike would be in the crowd. One of my best memories of my Uncle Mike came in little league baseball when I fell and hit my head and dropped the ball, he came out to what I believed was to check on my head, but all he asked was, " why I didn't catch the ball." I was so mad at him, that I gave him a hard time about it the rest of his life. Uncle Mike, " I will miss you very much, you were one of my Childhood heroes, I know you are with my Grandparents, your in laws and your Brothers and Sisters. Everyone here will miss your visits to their house and seeing your smile, you were the ultimate friend and family man that we will all remember. So as I say goodbye, I Thank You for all the Dodger games and the great memories that you left me, You were a awesome Uncle who will never be forgotten. Thank You

Dear Rachel and family, I just want you to know that you and Mike are in our continuing prayers. I was just thinking the other day, how Mike, Ralph Arias, Raul Alonzo and myself would sometimes get together and have a few, or more beers. This was before any of us were married. Those were great memories which will not soon be forgotten. In any case, know that you are all in our prayers.

To Mr. Mike’s Family, Mr. Mike was a Dear Man who always greeted me and my daughters with a smile and a genuine warm heart during our years at Heritage. He was always happy to lend a helping hand, and to assist us with our projects. He enjoyed watching the kids play sports and was part of our Heritage family. Then continued to support us at Garces; his goodness just shinned around him. He will be missed greatly. The girls were so sad to hear of his passing they began to tell little stories of his kindness in the past years, they all thought he liked them especially! We are sorry we could not attend his services, we are on vacation; we are lighting candles and praying at the old beautiful Church here in Mexico for him.

"Mr.Mike" was such a wonderful and caring person. He always welcomed my children with smiles and kind words while they attended Heritage Christian Schools. I can clearly remember one day my son saying to me, "Mr. Mike can fix anything", and him being so amazed with his work ethic. Though we have been gone from the school for a year, he is still remembered with great happiness in our home. Thinking of his family during this difficult time and thanking them for sharing his amazing character with us.

Having lived down the street from Mike and Rachel and growing up with Eric since we were both five years old makes this tough. He was one of the fathers of all of us growing up which included Boogie, Mike, Trey, and yes McCallum. A Dodger fan til the end and still driving the 44 Davis truck. Our condolences go out to the Arias family. Eric Winterset (I.S.G.)
