Nelda Nygard Obituary
Nelda Lowdon Nygard went to be with our Lord on February 6, 2016. She was born September 6, 1919 in Hallettsville Texas. Shortly after, she moved to Fresno, CA where she lived until 1949. Then she moved to Bakersfield, CA to open a car dealership with her husband Rolfe Lowden. She worked with him until 1961 when he died an untimely death. She at that time was the only woman car dealer in the U.S. After that she worked for many car dealers in the Bakersfield area.
She is survived by her son Richard Studdard of Prescott, AZ and daughter Laura Lowdon of Hemet, CA and many grandchildren as well as great and great-great grandchildren.
A service will be held Friday, March 11 at St. Lukes Episcopal Church at 11am. 2730 Mall View Rd, Bakersfield, CA.
