Johnnie Kerr Obituary

Johnnie Kerr 1913 ~ 2012 Johnnie Kerr was born on July 4, 1913, in Arkansas and passed away on December 27, 2012. Johnnie came to California in 1940 and settled in Digiorgio Ranch in Arvin. Her husband worked as a farm laborer, and she worked at Digiorgio packing sheds. Johnnie was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for her family gatherings. She picked up playing the organ since high school and continued with a passion. Johnnie took her sister's son, John Means, in at 18 months when she passed from TB during the Dust Bowl era. She loved and nurtured John, alongside of her own son, Tommy Ray Kerr (Idaho). Johnnie always had an infectious smile with everyone and loved everyone she met. Johnnie loved her Lord and Savior. Johnnie was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Kerr, in 1994. She is survived by her sons, Tommy Kerr (Cheryl) and John Means (JoAnn); and many loving nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2013, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Chapel, 2739 Panama Lane.
