Carl Henry Uhrig Jr.

UHRIG, JR. , Carl Henry CARL HENRY UHRIG, Jr., age 61 years, a resident of Findley Street, Elkins, WV, departed this life early Tuesday morning, December 4, 2007 at his home. He was born Monday, June 24, 1946 at Baltimore, MD, a son of the late Carl Henry Uhrig, Sr., and Louise Marie Bush Uhrig. On December 31, 1985 at Baltimore, MD, he was married to the former Emma rosalee Lambert Uhrig, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Ronald Lee Uhrig and wife Joan, England, one daughter, Kimberly Ann Uhrig, York, PA, one stepson, O. Allen Triplett and wife Susan, Colorado Spring, CO, one stepdaughter, Sherry Jo Armstrong and husband David, Elkins, two sisters, Kathy DeBethizy and husband Allen and Jill Fritz all of Baltimore, MD, eleven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death are two stepsons, Timothy and David Triplett and one great-grandchild. He attended the schools of Baltimore, MD, and was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the Vietnam War. He had been a truck driver throughout his career and had last driven truck for Sherwin-Williams for ten years before becoming disabled. He was a member of the H.W. Daniel's Post #29, American Legion, was a Life Member of the Greencastle, PA Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars and was a member of the Lebanon Lodge# 175, A.F&A.M. He was a Methodist by faith.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 6 to 8 P.M., Thursday. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel, Friday, December 7, 2007 at 2 P.M. The Rev. Walter T. Ellison will officiate and interment will follow at the American Legion's Little Arlington Cemetery at Cravensdale, WV, where the H.W. Daniel's Post #29, American Legion and the Tygarts Valley Post #3647, Veterans of Foreign Wars will conduct full military rites and the Elkins Lodge #108, A.F&A.M., will conduct Masonic graveside rites.
