Marye:
I worked with John at Mercantile, and several years ago you and John came to our house on Timber Trail Road (right off Providence) for dinner. John and I came to Mercantile at about the same time -- he, right after college, and I, somewhat shell-shocked after a divorce. At Merc, we were all like a family, and John was always a bright light and warm presence. Even after he left Merc, he'd come by our department (I worked for Ron Mettam)to say "hi." I'll never forget the time he came by my desk and saw a framed photo of my then-boyfriend, now bhusband, a Lutheran pastor, in his clerical collar. John said, "What are you doping with a picture of your proest on your desk?" Afterward, when I explained it to him, we had a good laugh. That was John -- a terrifically good guy who rose to the occasion when life dealt him some tough stuff and gave incredible gifts to others who will benefit from all he did. The Memorial service was a fitting tribute to him and to your wonderful family. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Love,

Dearest Ruth, John , and Marye.....my prayers for you all. John L , whom I knew at St. Williams was destined to be a powerful witness in carrying the good news of the Gospel in his unique way. So often I see his name - especially for support for the stem-cells debate etc.......He gave his all, his total life and he's loved by God a hundred-fold! Could we all be so courageous..... Fr. My condolences and heartfelt sympathy goes out to Marye, the kids and the rest of the family. I met John 3/30/81 when we started working together and quite simply, I have never met a finer man in my life.

Marye and Family. I grew up with John two doors up on Stamford Road. Our homes were separated by Miss Trott's place; but there were no fences between and as youth we played many a game there. I lost track of John when he was in high school for various reasons and, judging from what I've read in this Guest Book, I'm sorry that I did. He sounds like a good guy.

My wife and I offer our condolences to your and your family on your loss. It is never easy to lose one so close; but, I'm sure he believed he was going to a better place. A place where he wouldn't have to suffer any longer and be at peace. Hold that thought dear - that he's at peace and watching over all of you.

May peace and quiet find you in this tough time and keep memories of John with you for comfort.

Our Condolences,
Charlie and Sue Heinmuller

Dear Marye and Family,

I was so sorry to hear about the loss of your beloved John. He had to be one of the kindest most self less men I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and working with. Regardless of race or religion, John treated everyone the same. He was a huge Hadassah supporter and we will greatly miss him. With warmest regards. - Leslie Goldberg, Development Coordinator

Our pal and classmate, John "Snatch" Kellermann lived his life the same way he played lacrosse at Gibbons, he was prepared for the battle, he left everything he had on the field, and he showed all he had the heart of a lion. Peace brother Crusader, and may God's love and understanding bring comfort to the hearts and minds of your family.
