Mabel Connor Obituary

CONNOR , Mabel Shannon Mabel Shannon Connor was born on September 2, 1923 in Pennsylvania to the late Harry Skidmore and Laura Duckworth Skidmore. She moved to Maryland when she was a young child, and attended Frostburg High School, graduating Class of 1941. She worked for the U.S. Government at Ft. Meade as a procurement specialist for 30 years. Upon retirement when she was 65 years old, she was recruited to work for Harry Diamond Laboratories for two years. She enjoys dancing and visiting Blobs Park, piano music, and is an avid reader. She is a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Glen Burnie. Ms. Connor lives with her faithful and loving companion John Nash, and has one daughter, Sue Shannon; two grandchildren, Catrina Durm and George H. Durm, III; and two sisters, Phyllis Pape and Gladys Howser. Two children predecease her, Jack Shannon, Jr., who passed away at four months old, and Jackie Shannon, who passed away in 2000. She is also predeceased by a sister, Betty House.
The family will receive visitors at the family owned Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, PA, 1 2nd Avenue S.W. (at Crain Highway), Glen Burnie, from 3-5 & 7-9 PM on Friday.
