Peter Michael Spooner

1942 - 2016

Baltimore, MD - Peter Michael Spooner, PhD passed away on January 30, 2016 at the age of 74. He was the son of Milton K. and Ruth M. (Ragsdale) Spooner and was born in Newport, RI November 11, 1942. Dr. Spooner was an Associate Professor of Cardiology Emeritus at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. In 1960 he graduated from Rogers High School; in 1964 he received a B.S. from Bates College; in 1966 he became a Master in Physiology/Biochemistry at the University of Illinois; in 1969 he obtained his PhD from the University of Illinois; and in 1972 he earned his Cardio-Vascular Post Doctorate degree from the University of California. Peter belonged to numerous clubs and organizations including the American Heart Association which was his favorite and for which he diligently worked from 1983 until 2016. Peter leaves his sister Susan Spooner Ferguson and her husband Bruce of Stoughton, MA, his nephew, John S. Ferguson of Stoughton, MA, his niece, Sarah E. Hayden and her husband Corey of Foxborough, MA as well as their two children Adelaide and Ella. Services for Dr. Peter Spooner will be private and will be handled by the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxborough, MA.
