Conrad Link Obituary

LINK , Conrad B. On Friday, September 12, 2008, CONRAD B. LINK, Professor Emeritus of Horticulture, University of Maryland at home in Gaithersburg, MD. Born March 5, 1912 in Western New York. He was the son of Conrad and Mae Barnett Link. A graduate of Ohio State University, he was on the faculty of Penn State, Brooklyn Botanical Gardens and the University of Maryland. He was a 75 year member of the American Society of Horticulture Science and a charter member of University United Methodist Church. He served in the US Army during WWII. He is survived by beloved wife of 59 years, Kathleen Barber Link; father of Helen Chang; Leora (Michael) Caporaletti and the Rev. Conrad O. (Catherine) Link. He is the brother of Dorothy (John) Fitch and the late Leonard (Emeline) Link. Also survived by nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life memorial service at The Guild Chapel, Asbury Methodist Village, 201 Russell Avenue, Gaithersburg, MD on Friday, September 19, 2008. Visitation will begin at 1 P.M. with the service beginning at 2 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wesley Foundation, University United Methodist Church, 3621 Campus Drive, College Park, MD 20740. Interment will be
private.
