Barbara Jean (Bobbie) Spradlin Campbell, 84, of Roanoke, Va., met her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, October 3, 2017. She is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, Gene “Butch” Campbell; her two sons, Steve Campbell and wife, Stacy, and Tod Campbell and wife, Vickie; five grandchildren, Andy (Ashley) Campbell, Caitlin Campbell, Emily Campbell, Nicole (Bryan) Huffman and Kristin (Cody) Dunford; one new great-grandchild, Elle Campbell; and a brother, Clarence (Janet) Spradlin.Bobbie was a graduate of Jefferson High School and worked at Shenandoah Life in the 1950s where she met lifelong friends. After raising her two boys, she returned to work at the Division of Motor Vehicles retiring in 1995. She was a member of North Roanoke Baptist Church.Although Bobbie was diagnosed with leukemia many years ago, most were unaware. She was valiant in her fight and determination to have a fruitful life as a happy soul. Bobbie was a role model as a mom and well-loved throughout her life. Her family and friends will miss her dearly until they meet again.Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 6, 2017, at Oakey’s North Chapel with the Rev. Jake Roudebush officiating. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 5, 2017, at Oakey’s North Chapel.
