Bobby's Obituary

Bobby Gene Holliman, 92, of Columbus, MS, peacefully passed away on January 13, 2024, at Trinity Health Care Methodist Senior Services in Columbus, MS.

Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 12:00 PM  at Memorial Gardens in Columbus, MS.

Mr. Holliman was born on June 18, 1931, to Henry Dell Holliman and Myrtle Amanda Thomas Holliman.

Mr. Holliman was a faithful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He married Edna Katherine Ray on July 11, 1954, and they were married 59 years until her death in 2013.

In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Holliman was preceded in death by his brothers Edward Holliman and George Derwood Holliman, and his sister, Flora Bell Motes. 

Mr. Holliman was a retired veteran having served in the US Air Force and Army and saw duty in the World War II occupation of Okinawa, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. Upon his military retirement, he came to Columbus, MS, and worked with CECO and retired from General Tire Omnova.

Mr. Holliman was also a volunteer for the American Red Cross Disaster Relief and the Mississippi Baptist Disaster Relief programs for many years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Mr. Holliman is survived by his daughters Linda Holliman of Columbus, MS, Barbara Holliman of Florence, SC, Cindi Holliman of Flowood, MS, Lisa McGee (Darryl) of Woodbridge, VA, Ann Smith of Tampa, FL, Nancy Christian (Robert) of Millport, AL, son Larry Holliman of Fulton, MS, He is survived by his brother- Donald W. Holliman (Mary) of Alvord, TX, sister Maurine Higdon of Springfield, MO. twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

The Family of Mr. Holliman will serve as pallbearers.
