Not sure what to say?

I was so happy that I got to spend time with Cathi in June. Although she wasn't feeling the greatest, she kept smiling and having fun. I considered her part of the family & I will forever be grateful that I had the honor of knowing her. Rest in Peace beautiful lady. My thoughts and prayers to her kids and family.

I was one of many lucky enough to know cathi. She touched so many in different ways. You continue to be in our prayers.

Cathie and I were friends in elementary school in Rutland. Then she and I lived in the same dorm years later in college at DSU in Madison. We have not been in touch since those days but my mom shared with me this sad news. I just remember Cathi being so much fun, energetic, and mischievous in grade school. Then in college she still had so much spunk and energy, but was a great study partner as she was so very intelligent and often quickly understood the materials we had to study. My prayers...

So sorry to hear of Cathi's passing. She was a wonderful person and mother. Sending love and prayers to her family.

No words can express the mixed emotions that loom around us today. Cathi will be missed by so many. I am so fortunate that I have been able to be one of those. She shined the true meaning of living life to the fullest. Without regret, without self-pity, without anger. Cathi is truly an example how everyone should see life. I will miss her dearly.
With Faith, HOPE, and Love.

Prayers for peace in the midst of sorrow for Cathi's family and many friends! She was full of spunk right to the end and fought an unbelievable fight :) Enjoy healing in heaven and keep our seats warm! So sorry for her family's loss. . .

I'm going to share the message that Cathi wrote when my dad passed in March, because it is also perfect for her.
We all know there are people who walk quietly through life barely leaving a print or those who sadly angrily pass away alone because they didn't know how to appreciate what they had. Cathi was definitely not that gal! She left an amazing legacy that will continue to inspire so many of us. Her selflessness, good-natured, calls-'em-as-she-see's-em, thankful, never-give-up,...

My heart goes out to Cathi's family and I pray for God's guidance and mercy as they mourn the loss of this very special lady.

The light of the candle of who you are and the love I have for you will burn forever with in my heart, Cathi. Thank you for being more than a sister and for all the memories we made together. I will miss and love you forever.

Obituary

Cathi's Obituary

Cathleen Anne (Schoepf) Pardy, 49, of Yankton, SD went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, January 30, 2016 at the Dougherty Hospice House after a long and courageous battle with cancer and Leukemia.

Cathi was born February 14, 1966 to Wilferd and Lucille (Duly) Schoepf in Sioux Falls, SD. Cathi grew up in Montrose, Rutland, and Chester, South Dakota and graduated from Chester High School in 1984. Cathi attended Dakota State University in Madison with a degree in English for Information Systems in 1988.

After graduation, Cathi met and later was wed to Michael Pardy on August 22, 1992 in Howard, SD. To this union was born three beautiful children who Cathi called “the loves of her life”; Shane in 1996, Brett in 1997, and Madelyn in 2004. Cathi loved being a mom and nothing meant more to her than her family and children.

Cathi worked a variety of jobs in South Dakota and Montana. Her last position with the Johnson Law Offices in Yankton was a place Cathi spoke very highly of as she received incredible support and friendship from everyone there during her multiple battles with Cancer.

Cathi enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping with her family and friends. She also enjoyed drives with her daughter Maddie to “go visiting” people. Cathi mostly enjoyed attending her children’s events through the years and was their biggest fan.

While Cathi is most recently known for her courage and strength as she battled cancer, those are just two of her many wonderful attributes. Cathi had the heart of a saint, the spirit of a mischievous child, the warmth of a best friend, and everyone who met her immediately loved her. When Cathi liked you, you had the Golden Ticket as you were a friend for life and she was a fierce and loyal friend.

She was grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Michael, sons Shane and Brett, and daughter Madelyn.

Cathi was proud to have been a daughter to Wilferd & Lucille and sister to Michael (Bev) Schoepf of Albert Lea, MN; Steve (Penny) Schoepf of Centerville, SD; Susan (Bruce) Brucks of San Antonio, TX; Cindy (Rich) Bilka of Chester, SD; Dan (Mary) Schoepf of Prairie Village, KS; and Sandi (Jeff) Hurst of Sioux Falls, SD; as well as many nieces and nephews who she adored.

Cathi was preceded in death by her Father, Wilferd Schoepf and brother Kevin Schoepf.
