Jack's Obituary

Funeral services for Jack Riggs, Sr. will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 17, 2015, at the Wentworth Chapel in Carmen. Interment will be in the Carmen City Cemetery under the direction of Wentworth Mortuary, LLC. Jack Dale Riggs, son of the late Robert Dale and Hattie Matilda (Sherrell) Riggs, was born March 16, 1931, in Alfalfa County, Oklahoma and passed away October 12, 2015, at Oklahoma City at the age of 84 years, 6 months, and 26 days. Jack grew up in Carmen and graduated from Carmen High School with the class of 1949. He joined the National Guard after graduating high school and served two tours in Korea with the 189th Field Artillery Battalion. Jack was united in marriage to Joyce Arlene Delay. He later married Linda Hutchinson. He was a machinist and had his own shop in Carmen and later worked several places in Enid. In 1991, Jack moved to Enid to be close to family. He was a member of the American Legion and Sr. AMBUCS. Watching OU football, reading, and dancing were some of the things Jack enjoyed. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Allen Riggs and Eugene Riggs; and one sister, Geraldine Ash. Jack is survived by his partner, Faye Bunch of Enid; his children, Douglas Franklin Riggs of Shreveport, Louisiana, Leland Raye Riggs of Green Valley, Arizona, Jack Dale Riggs, Jr. of Avondale, Arizona, Audinetta Arlene Postula of Portland, Oregon, Jonilynn Carol of Phoenix, Arizona, Delania Kaye Wilson of Enid, and Audrey Riggs of Enid; thirteen grandchildren, Douglas Riggs, Jr. and William Riggs, both of Shreveport, Lisa Page, Shon Page, and Haley Gildersleeve, all of Phoenix, Arnold Merchant of Portland, Joyce Riggs and Jake Riggs, both of Phoenix, Chantz Wilson of Enid, Jacque Wilson of Enid, Rochelle Rush of Stillwater, Rykki-Dee Wallace of Cleo Springs, and Danue Wilson of Athol, Idaho; numerous great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Carmen First Responders.
