James Leiter Obituary

James Michael Leiter "Jim" "Ears", of Ocean City, MD, formerly of Pennsauken and Sicklerville, passed away on March 27, 2013. Age 61.

Beloved husband of Robin (nee Hyatt). Devoted father of Dana Roach and husband Michael of Cherry Hill, Megan Seher and husband Scot of Cherry Hill, Jamie Leiter of Philadelphia and Kristin Shelton of Ocean City, MD. Loving grandfather of Morgan and Lily Roach. Dear son of Helen Leiter (nee Ostafi) and the late Harold Leiter. Dear brother of Harold Leiter, Linda and Ron Cornwall, Beverly and Steve Moracca, and Robert and Peggy Leiter. Brother-in-law of William and Jane Hyatt, Carol Ramey, and Christopher Hyatt. Also survived by grandpets Lillybear, Rory, Buddy and Molly.

Jim had a great sense of humor. He loved to shoot the balls off the Christmas tree with a NERF gun when Robin wasn't looking. He enjoyed March Madness, the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies. He also enjoyed spending time at the beach with his wife, family and friends, picking crabs and drinking Budweiser, listening to music and sports radio and feeding the dogs when no one was looking.

There will be a viewing from 7 to 9pm Tuesday eve and 10 to 11am Wednesday morning at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE.

Funeral Service 11am Wednesday at the funeral home.

Interment private.

It has been tough not being able to call Jim at any hour of the day or night. To share a joke or two. But he is in a better place not having to deal with this Covid crap. But Jim would say its 5 oclock somewhere and lets have a drink!! Miss you Jim.

Dad missing you more than words can say even though I have the privlege to see you everyday. I wake in the middle of the night to go potty and miss hearing you snoreing or the radio on...or even the light you forget to turn off. I have left your room lit just in case but I know in my heart you are already home. I love you. Hope you hear me... And yes it is me on the tricky box.

Dear Robin and Family, My heart goes out to all of you at the loss of Jim. My brothers Frank, Logan, and I spent a lot of days and nights with Jim in Fairview either on the basketball court, or on the commons playing pinochile, or just hanging out at Bill's with Jim and all of our friends. I will always remember Jim's boyish smile and his devilish laugh, but most of all I will remember his sweet shot on the B-ball court. He was always a great competitor and a great childhood friend. God's Blessings to you all.

My name is Wayne Hopson. I lived two years with Jimmy at Hillsboro Jr. College in the athletic dorm. He played basketball (he was a great shooter) and I played baseball. Jimmy and I became real close especially because he was from New Jersey and I was from Nacogdoches, TX which was a long way from Hillsboro, TX. Most of the other athletes went home for the weekends so we were normally the two who stayed in the dorm. We hung out a lot together. I have to admit I am one of the guilty parties who called Jimmy at 3 a.m. in the morning from the baseball reunion in Austin, Tx last year. I loved talking with him about old times. I got to visit with him about an hour a month later after that reunion. P.S.: Jimmy's nickname to us was "Norton" from the Honeymooners" show. I'll miss you Jimmy! Hoppy (Wayne) My condolences to Jimmy's family and friends.

Robin and ladies, I am so saddened when I heard of Jim's death. He and I have been friends since Hill College days and grew even closer after he moved back to Jersey. Both of you were great hosts when Carol and I came by to visit. My thoughts and prayers will be with all of you and let me know when the event will happen in October. I am looking forward to that GREAT DAY! GOD Bless you all!

We have no words to express to you my sadness at the loss of Mr. Jim. The world is a lesser place without him. But I know he is with God and the angels and I know even Heaven is improved by his presence there. I know you too are sure of this and yet this knowledge can't diminish his loss and your grief. We are with you every step.
