Description

The Gardner Funeral Home was established in 1932 by Edward C. Gardner, grandfather of Wendy L. Gardner. The second generation began with Edward C. Gardner, Jr. in 1957 when he graduated from Eckels School of Mortuary College. Edward, Jr. took over ownership in 1978. That same year, David H. Gardner joined the funeral home finishing high school. David graduated from mortuary school in 1982, and worked in the business with his father and grandfather until his death on September 1, 1983. In January of 1984, Wendy L. Gardner became the second third generation family member to enter the funeral business when she started the Funeral Service Certificate Program at Mercer County Community College. After the sudden death of Edward C. Gardner, Jr. in October of 1992, Wendy and her husband, Jim, took over the operations of the Gardner Funeral Home. Since then, they have continued the values and traditions set forth by Wendy’s grandfather and strive to offer the highest quality care for all families.

Professional and compassionate. Lovely room, beautiful urn, and helpful staff. Wonderful assistance for my Mom. She didn't have to worry about a thing. All the items (flowers, cards, and a lovely gift basket from Gardners) were loaded into her car. Our director, Nick, took care of us all moving to St. Joseph's Cemetery. He saw to any little need. They all worked to make what was a painful day, much better.

Gardner's funeral home were wonderful to work with. They helped us put together a funeral for my father in in a matter of days. They were so kind and gave us a beautiful send off worthy of my wonderful Dad.

The Gardners FH management are fast on taking your money but very slow or not apologizing when they make mistakes..Their apologies should be as large as their ego’s they hold .." I apologize."..is not in their vocabulary...what a phony operation. If the service had to be done all over again it will not be here, now knowing their fake personalities..they are your best friend when you are paying them but ignore you when they realize they are at fault! 1 star is also too high for a Gardners rating!
