I really miss Uncle Jerry. Our family shared so much laughter with him.My mama was his sister and she left for heaven a little bit before Uncle Jerry did. Great memories that remain with us.

Our thoughts and prayers are with this sweet family.
I have known Mr. Jerry for most of my life and have know Jerry Jr. for the same.Always men of great integrity! Hard working, honest and never shirked a task.RIP Mr. Jerry!

Funeral Services for Jerry W. Thigpen Sr., age 79, of Picayune, MS, who passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014, will be held Saturday, May 10, 2014, at 9:00 am at Faith Chapel Church of God.Visitation will be Friday, May 9, 2014 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at McDonald Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.Rev. Ronald Bear and Rev. Eric Richard will officiate the service.A native of Picayune, MS, he was the Owner of Thigpen Septic Tank Services and a member of Faith Chapel Church of God. Jerry was a devout Christian, a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be dearly missed by his family and friends. After his retirement, he enjoyed spending time tending to his garden, fishing, hunting, and reminiscing about the good old days. Jerry served as the Pearl River County Coroner from 1976-1984.He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Thigpen and Verdie Burge Thigpen; and his sister, Jacqueline Kellar.Survivors include his loving wife of over 62 wonderful years, Reba O. Thigpen; his daughter, Linda Cockrell his son, Jerry W. Thigpen Jr. and wife Cynthia; his three grandchildren, Michael Cockrell, Jerry "Trey" W. Thigpen III and wife Kourtnie, Sheridan Nicole Thigpen; his four great grandchildren, Michael "Mikey" Cockrell Jr., Shelbie Cockrell, Heidi Cockrell, and Maddie Cockrell; his sister, Janell Easterling; several nieces and nephews.
