Not sure what to say?

John came to us unannounced in 1975 from Mira Costa Junior College to play football at McPherson College, a small NAIA school in Kansas. John proved to be a loyal backup center for two seasons . I was John's head coach.

As a side note, I wonder if John was a descendent of John Rolfe (sp) of colonial Virginia. John Rolfe was the first Governor of the Virginia colony, and his first wife was the indefatigable Mekota, the Pamunkey Indian Princess otherwise known as "Pocahontas." ...

I am sorry to learn of the passing of John Allen Rolfes. the news of which I learned from John's football teammate Casey Jaworski. John played football for me in 1975 and 1976 at McPherson College in Kansas and was a pleasant friend and valued team member to those who knew him. Please accept my sympathy in the loss of your dear father and brother.
