You may have gone on before us and are out of view but one thing's for sure my Brother, you'll always be us in our thought and heart. We expect you to have a good ride mapped out when we see you again. Till then, Love ya man.

John Pound III

John Thomas Pound III, age 60, of New Boston, Texas, died Monday, September 26, 2016 at this home.

Mr. Pound was born December 10, 1955 in Buzzards Bay, Mass. and lived in New Boston most of his life.

He was an active Ammunition Inspector with the Red River Ammunition Response Team at Red River Army Depot for over thirty five years.  He was a member of the Texas X Riders and the Teri Larry Bowling League and was a member of the Herpetology Society. He was also a veteran of the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife: Dorothy Pound of New Boston, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law: Heather and Ronnie Post of Wake Village, Texas; one step daughter and step son-in-law: Lynn and Terry Jones of Talco, Texas; two stepsons and one step daughter-in-law: Buddy and Kathy McKinney of DeKalb, Texas; Lee McKinney of New Boston, Texas; two sisters and one brother-in-law: Debi Pound of Texarkana, Texas; Cyndi and Rick Darland of Princeton, Texas; two grandchildren: Sgt. Kade Post of Jacksonville, North Carolina; Karlee Post of Wake Village, Texas;  three step grandchildren: Arine Henson of Livingston, Texas, Byron Henson of New Boston, Texas and Ashley Smith of New Boston; nine step great grandchildren, a number of other relatives, and numerous special friends .

 

A short memorial service will begin at 6:00 P. M. Friday at Chapelwood Funeral Home Chapel  with visitation to follow.
