Not sure what to say?

Mr. McLawhorn and I bonded when he was a patient at Hallmark Healthcare. He would sit with me near my desk and tell me all about himself. He was very special to me. I only just now saw that he had passed and I feel so bad that I didn't know about it. He will forever have a special place in my heart. Steve and Peggy, I send my condolences. I did go to Hospice House to see him and that was special for me.

Bud was another brother to me. He and Agnes were two of the most special people I ever knew. They were so good to my Mama and she loved them like her own. If given a choice for a brother & sister they certainly would have been mine. I loved them both and know they are happy in heaven together.

Another veteran that has completed his last patrol and moved on to his reward. Keeping the family in my prayers.

Mac will most definitely be missed by so many
He was a unique individual who quickly became special to so many. Thank you for allowing us to take care of your loved one. We are blessed to have been able to do so, and that you trusted us with this very special veteran. I am son sorry for your loss, but know that together your family can make it through anything. Sending LTC.

Keeping the McLawhorn family in my thoughts and prayers.

In 1970 I got a job in the Post & Courier circulation department and worked there for one year. Mr. McLawhorn was kind and patient with all of us new employees. I did not see him again until 2010 when I accompanied my own father, a WWII veteran, on an Honor Flight to Washington, DC. At the orientation I immediately recognized Mr. McLawhorn for he had not changed a bit. Those guys did not age, no wrinkles. I knew he would not remember me but he pretended he did. My own Dad died in late...

As a friend of Mac's brother Wesley "Mac",we met Mac on a number of occasions. He was alway kind and generous and a joy to spend time with. We don't believe in all our years that we have ever met anyone with a better sense of humor. No matter how you were feeling, he had you laughing and happy within minutes. He was a great man!! He will be missed but we are sure that he is a happy man joining the love of his life, Agnes, in heaven. May they both rest in peace with our good...

Mac was my mother's neighbor for many years. He and Agnes watched over Mom and made sure she was doing well. He was the best...........a fine navy retired veteran and always a gentleman. RIP and fair winds and following seas.

Mr Mac was like my 2nd Dad at the Post and Courier back in the early 80s, he took me under his wing from a kid off the street and had the faith in me to be a District Manager over a small area then one of the biggest areas in the state, i have long since left but have never forgotten about how he has shaped my life, always positive always understanding, So surely will miss my Friend and his warm special direction he gave me in life, A True Angel
