Bob, You were suppose to come home with me from the hospital. I miss you so much. You always made me feel so loved and special. I love you so much. I can't believe you're gone and i will never get to see you again. How can i go own without you? Lucy still looks for you. You are so loved and missed by all of us. You are always in my prayers.

Robert's Obituary

Robert F. Rempel (Bob), 65, passed away on Friday, February 8, 2013 after a short illness. He was born on April 5, 1947. Bob was the son of the late Robert and Sylvia Rempel of Long Island, New York. He served in the U.S. Army as a helicopter pilot and mechanic during the Vietnam War. In 1966, after being stationed at Ft. Stewart, Bob decided to make Georgia his home for the remainder of his life. Bob was an excellent mechanic. He was the former owner of B & J Auto and Truck Specialists in Statesboro. He also worked at Springfield Ford as a transmission specialist, at Bobcat as a mechanic, and at Tidewater as a mechanic and shop manager. He loved working with his hands and would spend hours building and rebuilding transmissions until every part was perfect.He is survived by his wife, Gail; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Shawn Rempel, of Statesboro; a daughter, Amanda Rempel , of Savannah; one sister, Rosemarie Scott, of Long Island, NY; four grandsons, Robert, Jr. , Matthew, Jordan, and Nathan; two granddaughters, Kayla and Amber; and two great-granddaughters, Kylie and Chrissy. He was also a stepfather to his wife's children and a step-grandfather to her grandchildren.Bob was a devoted and caring husband, brother, father, and grandfather, who will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held 11:00am, Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Little Ogeechee Baptist Church in Oliver, GA.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob's name to the American Diabetes Association.Low Country Cremation Society is serving the Rempel family.
