Shayla Darnall Obituary

Our beloved Daughter and Sister, Shayla Darnall, was unexpectedly called home to accept her angel wings on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at the age of 58 years old when she passed away at home. She was born to her devoted parents, Robert O. (Bozo) Darnall and Jo Marilyn English Darnall.

Shayla graced this world on August 15, 1964 in Tempe, Arizona, but she cherished being raised a Texan. Having been brought up in Burkburnett, she was a graduate of Burkburnett High School. Shayla spent many summers of her life in Red River, New Mexico where she enjoyed fishing with her dad and watching him entertain crowds from far and near with his fiddle playing skills and country and western music. In Red River, Shayla even caught a prize Rainbow Trout which is still displayed proudly on the wall of their home. She worked as a hostess and caregiver, but the things that brought her the greatest joy were putting together puzzles, especially Thomas Kincaid ones, listening to music, going to church, and walking in the sunshine. Shayla lived with many health problems most of her life, but her strong faith in Jesus Christ ensures she will never endure another health problem again. In fact, Shayla shared that she hopes everyone she knows has this same kind of peaceful assurance, all from the love of Jesus Christ.

Shayla was preceded in death by her father, Robert O. Darnall. She is survived by her mother, Marilyn Darnall, brothers Gregory Darnall, Brandon Darnall, Bradley Darnall and wife Stacey Darnall all of Wichita Falls, TX, half-brothers Rueben Darnall and Raymond Darnall, niece Allyson Darnall, nephews Jackson Darnall and Colton Darnall, and many dear cousins and friends.

A memorial service honoring Shayla’s live is planned for the fall.
