Barbara Davis Obituary

Barbara (Ratliff) Davis Burke, VA Barbara (Ratliff) Davis, passed away November 13, 2010 after a long illness. She was born in Kalamazoo and grew up in Battle Creek, the daughter of the late Henry Carter Ratliff and Martha Neace Ratliff. Mrs. Davis was a 1946 graduate of Lakeview High School. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Richard C. Davis, also formerly of Battle Creek, her son and daughter-in-law, Michael & Susan Davis of Herndon, VA, and her daughter, Patricia (Davis) Brazzle of Burke, VA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Christopher and Stephanie Brazzle of Dallas, TX, Gregory Brazzle and Rebecca Sugarman of Washington, DC, Courtney Davis and Michael Rohd of Evanston, IL, James Brazzle of Burke, VA, great-grandson Jacob Brazzle of Dallas, TX, by her brother andsister-in-law, James and Alaine Ratliff of Battle Creek, MI, and many nieces, nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Alma (Ratliff) Cassidy and Virginia (Ratliff) Hopkins, both of Battle Creek, by her brother, Glenn Ratliff of Baytown, TX, and step-father, Leland Matteson of Battle Creek. A funeral will be held on Saturday, November 20th at 11 a.m. at Henry's Funeral Home in Lakeview. Visitation will be one hour preceding the funeral beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family asked that a donation be made to the American Cancer Society.

It was my very good fortune to have you as a most special friend and I thank God for our wonderful visit and sharing together during our visit at your home in September.
