Bernita Edgerton Obituary

Bernita M. Edgerton Homer Bernita M. Edgerton, age 94, of Homer passed away Monday, October 4, 2010 at Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall, Michigan. She was born October 27, 1915 in Grand Ledge, Michigan to Roy and Mabel (DePue) Taylor. On June 10, 1938 she married Robert E. Edgerton who preceded her in death on January 15, 1983. Bernita came to Homer in 1954 where she taught at the Homer Community Schools for many years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Homer and its Woman's Circle, an avid supporter of the Homer Public Library and enjoyed reading. She is survived by her daughters, Virginia Zadigian of Mebane, NC, Carolyn (Thomas) Reid of Anderson, SC; son, Lee (Mary Ellen) Edgerton of St. Cloud, FL; 6 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother, Howard, and a sister, Barbara Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, October 8, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Drive, Albion, Michigan. Funeral Service will be Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Lynne McQuown officiating. Burial will be at Elkland Cemetery, Cass City, Michigan. Memorial contributions to the Homer Library or Presbyterian Church of Homer can be made at the funeral home. www.kevintiddfuneralhome.com
