Betty Newton Obituary

Betty Helen Newton Battle Creek Betty Helen Newton, 89, of Battle Creek died peacefully on Saturday morning, November 20, 2010 at the Evergreen Senior Care & Rehab Center. She was born in Lansing, Michigan on March 11, 1921 the daughter of Harry E. and Helen (Ailstock) Robinson. Betty married Warren Lester Newton in Battle Creek on June 26, 1948: he preceded her in death on July 20, 1993. She is survived by her daughters, Janis K. Williams of Battle Creek and Margaret J. Olsen of Florida; 2 grandsons, Michael J. (Angela) Williams, Jr. of Iowa and Jonathan Williams of Lansing; 3 great-grandchildren, Savannah, Sidney and Walker; and a brother, Jim (Nancy) Robinson. Betty was a Detroit Pistons Fan and enjoyed watching Golf, especially Tiger Woods. She was a member of the neighborhood birthday club. Betty was a great cook, loved working in her flower garden and was always there for her loving family. She also loved her many cats and dogs through the years. At the request of the family, funeral services to celebrate Betty's life will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 23, 2010 in the chapel at Memorial Park Cemetery. Those wishing to make contributions in memory of Betty are asked to consider the South West Michigan Humane Society. Arrangements were entrusted to the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home. Maggie, Janis, and Family, My heart is so sad for the lost of your mother,and grandmother. What a sweet, sweet lady she was. She'll be deeply missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you!!
