C. Schragg Obituary

C. Calvin Schragg Poinciana, FL C. Calvin Schragg, 81, of Poinciana, FL and Union City, MI passed away December 24, 2010 at the Highland Home in Ridgeland, MS. He had Parkinson's disease. Arrangements are being made by Natchez Trace Funeral Home and Crematory in Madison, MS and the announcement of a memorial service will be at a later date. Calvin was born April 21, 1929 at the family home in Newton Township, Michigan to the late John D. and the late Dora (Brenner) Schragg. He had deep roots in Calhoun County where he grew up and spent his early working years farming. Calvin retired from Clark Equipment in 1985. In 1981, he co-founded with his wife, Rowena, Calro Mini Mart, Inc. which included Don's Citgo and Peerless Car Wash in Union City. Calvin married Rowena Moore on May 11, 1958. He is also a veteran of the U.S. Army having served between World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ in Union City, MI, enjoyed golf and was an avid vegetable gardener. Mr. Schragg is survived by his wife, Rowena Schragg of Poinciana, FL; son, Jeffrey Schragg (Mary Jo) of Vienna, VA; daughter, Jennifer Brown (Kevin) of Madison, MS; three granddaughters, Morgan, Chelsea and Cassidy Brown of Madison, MS; sister; Geraldine Smith of Roscommon, MI; brothers, Melvin Schragg of Ceresco, MI and Henry Schragg of Hastings, MI. Calvin is preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings; Neva Kern, Virginia Jones, Beverly Kennedy, Julia Schragg, Charles Schragg, William Schragg, Wayne Schragg and Johnny Schragg.
