Clarence Sween Obituary

Clarence J. "Jack" Sween Springfield Clarence J. "Jack" Sween, age 81, died Saturday, October 30, 2010, at Battle Creek Health System. Clarence was born on October 9, 1929, in New Rockford, North Dakota. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army. Jack moved to Battle Creek after his service in the Army in 1949. He married Lillian V. DeMaso who preceded him in death in July of 2006. He retired in 1993 from the Battle Creek Public Schools bus garage. He was a volunteer fireman for the city of Springfield for 20 years. Jack enjoyed fishing, hunting, going to Jones Lake Campground in Delton and spending time with his friends. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Surviving are children, Bill J. (Pam) Sween of East Leroy, John (Sally) Sween of Mason, Roxann (Naomi) Pierce of Manchester, MI, and Vicki M. Barlond of East Leroy; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; special friends, the Dellinger and Griffin families. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2 to 4:00 p.m. and 6 to 8:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Graveside services with full military honors will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 3, 2010, at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorials May be Made to the Pink Ribbon Riders/ Stacy Livingston, Live, Love, Laugh Foundation, 5420 Beckley Rd., Suite 334, Battle Creek, MI 49015.
