Dale Oberlin Obituary

Dale LaVerne Oberlin Elberta, Alabama Dale LaVerne Oberlin of Elberta, Alabama, 75, formerly of Battle Creek, passed away unexpectedly on September 2, 2010. He was born in Hillsdale, Michigan, the son of Hurley and Rose Dow Oberlin. He is survived by his three children - Jeffery (Danielle) Oberlin of Battle Creek, MI; Teresa (Michael) Bishop of Traverse City, MI; James (Karen) Oberlin of Tallmadge, OH; the Mother of his children, Juanita Oberlin, of Tallmadge, OH and five grandchildren. Also, his brothers, James Oberlin of Florida; Fred Oberlin of Tecumseh, MI; and Roger (Mary) Oberlin of Grove City, Pa. survive. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Hurley Oberlin, Jr. of Florida. Mr. Oberlin attended Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, MI and Jacksonville University, Jacksonville, AL. He was a US Army veteran serving his country at Ft. McClellan, AL. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, October 15, 2010 at Fort Custer National Cemetery, 15501 Dickman Rd., Augusta, MI 49012. A life celebration gathering will be held immediately following the service at Players Bar & Grill, Augusta, MI. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the BARC! Program, Baldwin County Humane Society, P.O. Box 206, Fairhope, AL, 36533 or www.baldwinhumane.org.
