Earl was a great man, he was a senior when I came to Lakeview High School, he was a great football player, a even better friend. He attended many breakfast meetings with Rolla Anderson in Kalamazoo in recent years. Praise God for a special man.

When Mr. Holcomb walked into the room faces light up. He had that gift. He loved many people and that is the best way to know God. And Mr. Holcomb certainly knew God. Thank you Mr. Holcomb for being a part of our lives. God Bless Mark & Carolyn Abbott

Hopefully these words will bring a smile to the faces of those who knew him as an educator, a coach, a scoutmaster or a neighbor. I knew him as all of these things Good, better, best, never rest, until your good is better and your better is best. Mr. Holcomb, you may now rest, because you were the best.

I did my student teaching with Mr. Holcomb in 1975. I'm sure I didn't impress him much with my lack of skill, but he was always patient and willing to give me new ideas. I always meant to to catch up with him sometime and let him know I survived 25 years in the classroom.

Heaven welcomes home a very faithful man.
I am sure I am not alone in my respect and admiration for Mr. Holcomb. He was a great influence in many areas of my young life, from being hands down the BEST Scout Master I ever knew, and tremendously gifted teacher. But mainly because he was giving testimony to Jesus Christ, and God the Father!
We need more men like him!
My prayer that Our Lord shall fill your hearts with Grace and Peace thru this time of loss.
I know, as do many, we SHALL see Earl again someday in glory land - Praise God!
