Edward Todd Obituary

Edward J. Todd Edward J. Todd went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 17, 2010. He was born February 1, 1924 in Grove Hill, AL, to Fred and Adell Todd. He grew up in Grove Hill and attended school there. He was a World War II veteran of the Army. On September 27, 1947, he married Marlean Chapman; they had four children: Jamie Lee, Gladys, Pearlean and Karen Kay. In 1952 he moved his family to Battle Creek, where they settled. He was a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church for over 50 years where he served on the Trustee Board. Edward retired from Kelloggs after 33 years and he was a member of the 25 year club. He also was a member of the Strother Lodge #3 F & A M, and also B.J. Bryant Elks #1311. He enjoyed being with family and friends and loved to cook, hunt and travel. He is survived by two daughters, Gladys Brown and Pearlean Todd, both of Battle Creek; Eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sister Pearlie Mae Baldwin of Alabama and sister-in-law Hattie Mae Todd of Battle Creek and a host of nieces and nephews and close friends. He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Marlean Todd; son Jamie L. Todd; daughter Karen Kay Todd, sister Ella Mae Todd, brother Rutherford Todd, and his great-granddaughter Amyiah J. Harris. Services will be held at noon Monday, October 25, 2010, with family hour at 11:00 a.m. at Second Missionary Baptist Church in Battle Creek. He will be laid to rest at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
