James Allen "Big Jim" "Jamie" Woodman Battle Creek James Allen "Big Jim" "Jamie" Woodman, 53, of Battle Creek died Sunday evening, November 28, 2010. He was born in Battle Creek on January 18, 1957, the son of James P. and Ilene C. (Osborn) Woodman. James graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1975 and faithfully served his country as a member of the United States Army. James is survived by his parents, James P. and Ilene Woodman of Battle Creek; his loving fiancée, Colleen Thiltgen of Battle Creek; a brother, Jeffery (Peggy) Woodman of Battle Creek; a sister, Penny (Edward) Springer of Battle Creek; 2 nieces; a nephew; and several aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Floyd and Lucille Osborn and Ray and Ila Woodman. James was a member of the Legion Riders of the American Legion Post #298, Battle Creek and the Eagles Aerie #299, Battle Creek. He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidsons, grilling, hunting and attending antique car shows. James also enjoyed doing karaoke at various places around Battle Creek and truly loved to spend time with his family and many friends. At the request of the family, they will receive friends 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, December 5, 2010 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 6, 2010 at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. David Laisum and Rev. Dr. Ross Lucas of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making memorials to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association. Jeff and family,

I am so sorry to hear that your brother James died. I think he was in the military when we were in high school. He was always well thought of by everyone. I grew up with Jim around. He was best friends with my mom and dad. I remember the many nights doing karaoke. My heart goes to his family and may God give you peace in this time of grief. Jim, you will be missed.

I did not know Jim well, but from what I did know he was a good man & he loved Colleen so much, he was a great neighbor & a great man, he is gone way too soon and will be missed by many, RIP Jim!
