Janet Horton Obituary

Janet Marie (Kelso) Horton Battle Creek Janet Marie (Kelso) Horton born March 17, 1934 in Hamlin, NY to Martin and Wilamenia Kelso, passed away on October 1, 2010 at Evergreen Manor in Battle Creek, MI after a hard fought battle with cancer at the age of 76. She leaves behind four children: Kathleen (Steven) Witkowski Millard, Stephen Burt Horton, Clifford David (Lynn) Horton and Judith Ann Weekes. She is also survived by nine grandchildren. Her love of family and hard work ethic leaves a lasting legacy to her children and grandchildren. She worked until the age of 74 as a janitor in an Assisted Living Facility until her diagnosis of lymphoma. She loved peanut butter and ice cream and always had a sweet tooth. In her memory, "pay the love forward". A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m., Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Brain Tumor Research Fund, University of Michigan Dept. of Neurology, 1914 Taubman Center, 1500 E. Medical Center Dr. Ann Arbor, MI 48109-5316 Arrangements are by Royal Funeral Home.
