Lillian Williams Obituary

Lillian Ann Williams Battle Creek Lillian Ann Williams, 86, died October 13, 2010. Lillian was born December 18, 1923 in Hamtramck, MI. to William and Mary (Petryga) Briggs. She graduated from Northwestern High School in Detroit in 1941. It was there she met her husband, Oland "Pete" Williams. Pete went on to serve in the military during WWII, and after his discharge, the couple moved to Battle Creek, where they were lifelong residents. Lillian loved cooking, reading, making crafts of all kinds, traveling, large family gatherings, and was an avid game player, but was especially fond of Farkle. Lillian is survived by her husband of 66 years, Pete Williams; two children, Sharon (Grant) Replogle and Michael "Jim" (Theresa) Williams; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters. Lillian donated her body to the Michigan State University School of Medicine. A celebration of her life will be held at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, 157 Chapel Hill Drive, Battle Creek, 49015, on Saturday, October 23, 2010 between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider Chapel Hill United Methodist Church or Kairos Dwelling, 2945 Gull Rd., Kalamazoo, 49048.
