Marguerite Maricic-Ferguson Obituary

Marguerite H. Maricic-Ferguson Battle Creek Marguerite H. Maricic-Ferguson, 90, passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at her home with her loving husband and her dog, Princess by her side. She was born July 25, 1920 in Battle Creek, Michigan the daughter of Joseph and Ethel May (Rice) Crane. Marguerite had worked as a medical secretary for Leila Hospital and Percy Jones Hospital until their closing, the worked for IBM in Fort Custer and later retired in 1985 from the Kellogg Company after 22 years in the personnel department. She loved to crochet and knit for the B.C.H.S. Auxiliary and was one of two top hours for knitting. Marguerite also loved her flower gardens, playing cards and bingo, traveling and St. Peter Lutheran Church activities. Most of all she loved her dog, Princess. On October 13, 1938 she was married to Charles Maricic and he preceded her in death in 1978. Marguerite later married Darwin Ferguson in 1980 who survives. Also surviving is her son: Nicholas (Jan) Maricic; two grandchildren: Charles Maricic and Carla (Tod) Mercer; four step-children: Gary (Christine) Ferguson of Greenfield Center, NY, Jeffrey (Debbie) Ferguson of Brownsurg, IN, Thomas Ferguson of Chicago, IL and Melissa (Trey) Harbour of Amsterdam, The Netherlands; seven step-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Mildred Gilles and step-son, Mark Ferguson. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. this evening. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Jon Haug of St. Peter Lutheran Church officiating. Private interment will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Great Lakes Hospice Home Care Service, Alzheimer's Association, St. Peter Lutheran Church or the charity of ones choice.

I learned to know Marguerite through my grandparent..John and Mildred Koviach..her previous spouse use to bowl with my Gradfather John...she will be sadly missed...my thoughts and prayers go out to you Darwin
