Ralph Walmer Obituary

Ralph D. Walmer Battle Creek Ralph D. Walmer age 91 of Battle Creek passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at his residence under the loving care of his Granddaughters Beulah and Valerie. He was born February 10, 1919 in Bluffton, Indiana to Homer and Ida (Teller) Walmer. In November of 1964 he married Jane R. Robinson who preceded him in death September 22, 2008. He lived most of his life in the Battle Creek area. He was an electrician for Union Electric for many years, retiring in 1984 where he moved to Florida. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for 64 years, a member of the Eagles in Battle Creek and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Ralph is survived by a daughter, Patricia Hammond of Battle Creek; sons, Jim Walmer of Banfield, Ralph Walmer of Battle Creek, Frank Walmer of Olivet; 19 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a son, Jack Walmer; and a brother, Richard Shive. According to his wishes, Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A Memorial Dinner will be held at the Eagles on M-66 in Battle Creek on Sunday December 5, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Assistance with Memorial Contributions to the Great Lakes Hospice is available at the funeral home. www.kevintiddfuneralhome.com
